Five Months!

Guess who is five months old!?  I'm honestly not quite sure where the time went, but I know we've been having the time of our lives!  Jeremiah is so full of personality, and I cherish every single moment I have with my sweet, sweet boy!  This past month has been a BIG month for Jeremiah.  He started daycare at the beginning of the year!  Honestly, I was scared to death at the thought of someone else taking care of my baby all day, but we've had an amazing experience so far.  Jeremiah seems to LOVE going to daycare.  He lights up the second we walk into his classroom.  He is ALL smiles - so it makes it so much easier to leave him and go to work.  We are also very blessed to have Grandma and Poppy living so close to us now, and they keep Jeremiah twice a week.  They all really seem to enjoy their time together, and I think they form a very special bond!  Jeremiah also experienced his first cold/cough, and he was miserable!  I hated seeing my baby not feel well.  We cuddled often, and I think that helped him get better quickly!

Weight:
I'm guessing, but I think you are about 15 pounds.  You are definitely getting big!

Height:
I think you are about 25 or 26 inches - I think you have grown just a bit this month.

Clothing Size:
You still wear 0-3 or 3 month clothing.  You are getting bigger, but you are still a peanut!  We have started putting some of your 3-6 month outfits on you, but they are still too big!  Daddy says it is okay since they are "in your age range!"  You are the best dressed baby!  Everyone that sees you comments on your wonderful clothes.  You like to wear cute clothes and shoes!  You wear shoes nearly everyday - we have many shoes to match your outfits.  You wear size one in crib shoes (sometimes 2)!

Diaper Size:
At home, you are wearing size 1-2 Huggies.  At daycare, you wear size 2 Pampers Swaddlers.  It just worked out this way, because this is what we had!  They both fit fine.

Feeding:
You don't miss a meal!  You are such a good eater, and this makes Mommy happy!  You are still only on breastmilk.  You drink every 2-3 hours during the day (5 oz bottles while Mommy is at work).  Your first feeding of the day is around 7:30 a.m. and your last is around 9 p.m.

Hair/Eyes:
Your hair is very red in the sunlight!  I guess I would call it strawberry blonde.  I absolutely LOVE it!  Your eyes are a very dark blue/gray color.  You are so handsome!

Sleep:
You like to sleep at night!  You go to sleep around 9:30 p.m. and sleep until around 7:30 a.m. (10 hours!)  You aren't big on naps during the day, but you love to sleep at night.  You also love to cuddle and sleep in on the weekends - Mommy thinks this is amazing!

Fun:
Your personality is really starting to come out!  You love to make noises, play on your playmat, grab for your toys, look at lights, watch TV, swing, roll from side to side, play in your bouncy/exersaucer, play in your Jeep walker, and hang out in your bouncy seat.  You love to hang out with the terriers, and you have started petting/feeling their fur and holding on to them.  You are a very vocal baby, and you have a sweet little voice.  You LOVE looking at yourself in the mirror.  You don't know it is you yet, but you will laugh and laugh at yourself in the mirror!  You love to do the "walkie, walks" - basically we hold you up, so you can stand and you step, step, step (or march, march, march).  It is adorable.  You have started sitting!  We prop your arms up on your legs, and you can hold yourself there for short period of time before you topple over!  You love bath time!  You are so relaxed and happy in the bath.  You have many bath toys, but your current favorite is a little blue whale.  You have really started taking an interest in Sophie the Giraffe - she is fun to hold and chew on.  Speaking of chew on - everything goes in your mouth, and I mean everything!  Your hands are still one of your favorite things, especially since they can easily go into your mouth.  You also love Seabass (your glowing seahorse).  He goes every where with you.  You love anything you can hold onto and shake around.  You love all of your toys - books, music toys, rattles, teethers, everything!  You do like variety, so it is a good thing you have many toys to choose from!

You make your mommy very proud.  Your "teachers" love you.  One of your teachers wants a baby just like you.  You are so easy going, especially at daycare.  You get excellent daily reports.

You drool, drool, drool.  I call it "drooly to the max!"  You almost always have a bib on during the day.

You LOVE Daddy.  You give Daddy some of your best smiles.  You are a Mommy's boy, and I love it.  I love every single thing about you.

Here are some pictures from the past month!

Our Exciting Saturday!

Being a working mom really makes me appreciate the weekends and spending time with my little family.  I'm still fighting a cold, so we took it easy this morning - Jeremiah is such a cuddly little guy, and we love cuddling together!  After relaxing this morning, Jeremiah played with a cozy blanket while we got ready for the day.  This sweet boy loves cozy blankets on winter days!

We drove to our favorite photographer, Cheryl, and had Valentine's Day pictures done!  Jeremiah was so handsome, and he was such a good boy during his photo shoot!  We can't wait to see his pictures.  This is what he wore - talk about a good looking little guy!

We also did some playing and hung out with the terriers!

Then, we practiced sitting...

And, we got it!!  Jeremiah sat by himself for the first time today!!!  Look at my big boy!  I am so proud, but at the same time a little sad.  My sweet baby is growing up so quickly!
Sitting at 21 weeks, 3 days old - just under 5 months old!

Friday Night Fun!

Jeremiah has been battling a cold this week, but tonight he was feeling pretty good!  He has started laughing, and it is so much fun to hear!  Spending time with my sweet boy makes for a fun Friday night!  We love the weekends!

Please excuse the boogie in Jeremiah's nose... he is still getting over a cold!  I now have a cold, so excuse my voice too!

One Year

One year ago today, I found out I was pregnant with my sweet, sweet Jeremiah.  As I lay here feeding him and getting ready to go to sleep, I am reflecting on the past year - what a year it has been.  After losing Jonathon, we knew we wanted more children - I just didn't know how our future would pan out.     On January 14, 2012, while Rin and I were having lunch at Mellow Mushroom, I told him I thought I was pregnant.  This was the first month (in the past 18 months) that I wasn't consumed with wondering if I was pregnant.  After a year and a half of "trying," a hysteroscopy, cysts, irregularity, having my fallopian tubes cleared, and 3 failed fertility treatments, our dreams were coming true.

I was relatively calm during my pregnancy with Jeremiah, but I always had a fear that I would lose him too.  I already had a "perfect" pregnancy, and it ended with losing Jonathon.  My pregnancy with Jeremiah started out rocky, and I had a couple of very scary times - especially at the end when my sweet boy seemed to love doing complete flips in my womb, and he was very good at taking naps during his non-stress tests.  But we made it, and now I have the most amazing little baby boy in my life.

I couldn't have done it without the best doctors ever (Dr. McDaniel is AMAZING), some very dear friends, the best co-workers (and friends), my support group, my sweet and cuddly terriers, and a very, very supportive family that helped me get to where I am today.  I couldn't have survived this past year without my amazing and loving best friend and husband, Rin.  He took care of everything during my pregnancy with Jeremiah, and he supported me every step of the way.  He is an amazing husband and father.  My faith - my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, my priest - Father Frank, Mary, Saint Gianna, Saint Gerard - without my faith, I would have been LOST.  And last, but not least (I type this with tears in my eyes), I couldn't have made it through this past year without my dear, sweet Jonathon in heaven - everyday I ask him to tug on Jesus's robe and ask that his little brother is protected.  I am very blessed to have my very own guardian angel watching over me and all those I love.  Jonathon is my angel in heaven, and Jeremiah is my earth angel - I am so blessed by both of my boys.

One year ago, my life felt very incomplete and uncertain.  Today I feel like I am living a dream.  Life is good, life is very good.

When the times are tough, hang in there.  All of our journeys are unique, they are our own - they make us who we are.  While you are on your journey, know I'm here if you ever need anything.  And if you ever feel "lost" maybe these words will help you get through the tough times: "For I know the plans I have for you," declare the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
