My sweet, sweet Jeremiah is 6 months old! Since February is a short month, he didn't "officially" have a 1/2 birthday - we just celebrated his 1/2 birthday for two days! I celebrate my little earth angel everyday anyways! Jeremiah has changed so much in the last month. His personality is really emerging, and he is such a joy to our lives! He is learning new things every day. His coordination is really getting better - he grasps things and pulls them towards his mouth. He wants to sit by himself, but hasn't quite figured out how to get to the sitting position yet - he is constantly doing crunches! He loves to play with toys now, and he is intrigued by everything around him. He seems to be taking everything in! I am so blessed to be able to call this little man mine! He amazes me everyday!
Weight:
We went to your doctor appointment today, and you are 15 lbs. 15.5 oz! This puts you in the 23rd percentile for weight!
Height:
You are 26 1/2 inches long! You are in the 54th percentile for height! You are a tall little guy!
**Head circumference: Your head is 16 3/4 inches. This is in the 19th percentile. You still have a "little" head, but I think it looks very proportionate to the rest of your body!
Clothing Size:
The majority of your clothes this month have been 3-6 month. In the past week, you've started needing 6 month clothing! You are getting so big!!
Diaper Size:
Size 2 diapers!
Feeding:
We tried rice cereal... once... we'll continue to try it again soon. You weren't a big fan, but Mommy knows we need to start again soon! You love breastmilk. You drink every 2-3 hours during the day (6 oz bottles while Mommy is at work). Your first feeding of the day is around 7:30 a.m. and your last is around 9 p.m.
First attempt at rice cereal. |
Hair/Eyes:
No big changes here - Your hair is very red in the sunlight! I guess I would call it strawberry blonde. I absolutely LOVE it! Your eyes are a very dark blue/gray color. You are so handsome!
You do have a nice little bald spot on the back of your head from laying on your back. It will eventually grow back.
Sleep:
You are still an amazing sleeper. You go to sleep around 9:30 p.m. and usually wake up around 7:15 - 7:30 a.m. On weekends, you like to sleep in! Sometimes, you sleep in until 8:45 a.m.!!! If you don't sleep in, you eat and then go back to sleep for a while cuddling with Mommy! You like to make sure everyone is well rested. You are so sweet!
We stopped swaddling you this month, and we now use a sleep sack. I was really worried that you wouldn't sleep as well, but you proved me wrong! You still slept like a champ! This is your first night in your sleep sack:
Fun:
Everything you do is fun, and you make our lives so much fun! I walk into the room, and you light up my entire world!!! I look forward to getting home from work and playing with you. You give me the biggest smiles! You still love your jeep. You are starting to really take an interest in toys. You can grasp things now, and you pull just about everything towards your mouth. You have really started noticing the terriers. You like them to be close to you, and you like to "pet" them and rest your head on them. They love you too.
You love Sophie (the giraffe), Seabass (your light-up, singing seahorse), anything you can hold and shake (rattles, small toys, rings). All of your froggy toys, books, anything that lights up and plays music! You are fairly easy to entertain, but you enjoy variety. You have started sitting up (with Mommy's help) and playing with toys in front of you. You can also sit on your riding toys (if Mommy puts you up on it!) Your neck, back, and leg strength is amazing.
Here are some of Mommy's favorite pictures from the past month!
Trying to sit up - you are always doing "crunches!" |
